Creative, Colourful, Authentic.

Artist Nicoleta Croitoru has poured hundreds of hours into sharpening her skills with colored pencils and object designs. She began pursuing art at an early age but began sharing her works online in 2016 when she became interested in product design. Since then, she has relocated from Paris to London in order to pursue her passion at Central Saint Martins where she is constantly planning and creating artworks from textured chair designs to intricate and colorful portraits. Each project Nicoleta takes on centers meaningful topics from mental health issues to self-discovery, which she hopes will move and inspire people in their everyday lives.

Where/how do you gather inspiration?

I’m always trying to get inspired! Other creatives and the little things in everyday life inspire me to create, and the people around me stimulate me to be my best self. Growing up bicultural, traveling and living in different countries allowed me to broaden my sources of inspiration and think more creatively, allowing me to discover new perspectives on art and design while also immersing myself in the process of creating.

What do you hope audiences retain from your work?

I’m fascinated by how art and design challenge people’s perceptions of their inner and outer worlds. Through the use of colour, texture, and symbolism, I hope to express beauty, authenticity, deep emotion, and curiosity. I strive to create vibrant, bold, and realistic artworks that are also meaningful. I also want to apply my artistic thinking to the world of design, creating smart, empathetic, and environmentally conscious objects that provide an emotional experience. I’m drawn to the tactility and details of objects. I want to create art that serves a purpose. My main focus is whether it makes a difference for myself and others. Most importantly, I hope to inspire at least one person to create without limits.
