Where/how do you gather inspiration?

I can be inspired by anything really, from flowers to the colours of the sky. I also take a lot of photos, so often I’ll go back to them and use them for paintings. But it’s primarily evident that I mainly take inspiration from fashion and people’s self expression through what they wear, as it’s something I love. Anything from fashion magazines, an item of clothing or an editorial shoot can inspire me. I’m also surrounded by people who have their own unique style and I definitely take inspiration from them, often asking to photograph my friends for painting references; they continue to inspire me everyday.

What do you hope audiences retain from your work?

I like to think that due to the boldness of my work the vivid colours of the piece itself will remain a memory for them. I want them to feel inspired, and I hope that my work brings happiness to those who view it. However art is definitely very subjective, so it’s nice to think that someone out there has retained their interpretation of my work and made that interpretation mean something to them.
